On May 22, Bertil Vallien will carry out one of the most ambitious castings of his long artistic career.
In the glassworks, the world’s largest glass boat will be cast—a monumental four-meter-long work titled *Voyage Grande*.
Bertil Vallien will cast his largest glass boat ever in front of an audience at Kosta Glassworks.
This is not just a casting—it is the event of the decade. It has been over 40 years since Bertil last created a boat that was a record-breaker at the time, and now it is happening again, only bigger.
During the evening, the audience will be able to follow the process as the molten glass is shaped on a grand scale,
in a project that encapsulates Vallien’s lifelong work with the boat as a symbol, narrative, and artistic expression.
The casting of Voyage Grande marks a new high point in Bertil Vallien’s creative work and
offers a rare opportunity to experience a historic moment in Swedish glass art.
