Information
On May 22, Bertil Vallien will carry out one of the most ambitious castings of his long artistic career. In the glassworks, the world’s largest glass boat will be cast—a monumental work titled *Voyage Grande*.
Bertil Vallien will cast his largest glass boat ever—a full four meters long—in front of an audience at Kosta Glassworks. This isn’t just any casting—it’s the event of the decade. It’s been over 40 years since Bertil last created a record-breaking boat, and now he’s doing it again.
During the evening, the audience will be able to follow the process as the molten glass is shaped on a grand scale, in a project that encapsulates Vallien’s lifelong work with the boat as a symbol, narrative, and artistic expression.
The casting of Voyage Grande marks a new high point in Bertil Vallien’s creative work and offers a rare opportunity to experience a historic moment in Swedish glass art.
Welcome to an evening where vision, craftsmanship, and fire come together in a work of art unlike any other.
