Information

During the summer months, we offer a unique opportunity to visit our apiary and learn more about these amazing insects—honeybees! You’ll get a guided tour where we’ll look at larvae, discuss how bees build with wax, and maybe even get to see the queen. We’ll also treat you to a taste of honey straight from the hive! Did you know that the color of pollen varies depending on which flowers the bees visit? You’ll discover that and much more during your bee safari.

During the visit, you’ll get an up-close look at how a bee colony functions and learn about their important role in the ecosystem. We provide protective clothing and accommodate groups of up to 10 people. The tour lasts about 1–1.5 hours and offers a deeper understanding of the bees’ lives and work. If the weather prevents us from opening the hives, we offer an alternative to view the bees in an indoor display hive.

We recommend that you wear light-colored, full-coverage clothing and shoes. No one in your group should have eaten bananas, consumed alcohol, or worn strong perfume before the visit, as this can affect the bees’ mood. The Bee Safari is an educational and inspiring experience for both adults and children, offering a glimpse into the buzzing world of beekeeping.
